A8 chip used for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus was manufactured by Samsung in collaboration with TSMC. The agreement was made after reports that Apple wanted to reduce its dependence on Samsung because of numerous legal battles.
While the iPhone manufacturer hoped to cooperate more with TSMC, the company has turned to Samsung UNMIK, because this company is technologically ahead of all manufacturers of processors, transmits Lajmi.net.
There are also recent reports which say that Samsung has decided to "let down" processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, in favor of its own Exynos chip for next generation family of mobile phones Galaxy S.
